What's on the template?

The first page has the days from Monday to Sunday, each with a row for lunch and dinner. The shopping list at the bottom lets you write down what to buy at the same time.

The second page has 16 food pictures: soup, pasta, fish, carrot, broccoli, apple, banana, bread, cheese, egg, pancakes, pizza, salad, potatoes, milk and berries. Your child colors them and glues their favorites on the plan. The empty box is for drawing a food of their own.

How to make a weekly meal plan

  • Pick one day a week for planning. Many families do it on Sunday.
  • Check the calendar first: days with hobbies need a quick dinner.
  • Let your child choose one or two favorite meals for the week.
  • Write the meals on the plan and the missing ingredients on the shopping list.
  • Stick the plan on the fridge door.

Why bring your child into it?

A child who chose the dinner looks forward to it. A younger child only needs to pick a picture. A school kid can write the name of the dish and check the shopping list.
