Ayaka got the Avainlippu: what the mark tells you and what it doesn't

Our children's multivitamin tablets got the Avainlippu. What the mark tells you about the tablets, and what it leaves out.

The red Ayaka jar, strawberries and chewable tablets against a pink wall.

The first news about Ayaka was one line long: "Ayaka Oy: Lasten monivitamiinitabletit" (children's multivitamin tablets). The line was on Suomalainen Työ's list of new Avainlippu products on October 5, 2026. One line in a long list, but we'll take it.

What is the Avainlippu?

The Avainlippu mark, Valmistettu Suomessa (Made in Finland)

The Avainlippu, or Key Flag, is the mark of Suomalainen Työ, the Association for Finnish Work. On a product, it tells you the product was made in Finland. Ours is exactly that version: "Valmistettu Suomessa", made in Finland.

A company can't just print the mark on a pack. It applies to Suomalainen Työ for a license, and the license is granted product by product. Ours, license number 51615, was granted on October 1, 2026, for the product "Lasten monivitamiinitabletit". It's valid until further notice, and the criteria get checked again after three years.

A Finnish flag a company draws on its own pack is a different thing. Nobody grants a license for that. So where our tablets are made doesn't rest on our word alone.

What does it mean for Ayaka?

Our chewable tablets are made in Finland, in FSSC 22000 certified production. The Avainlippu was granted for the tablets specifically. The reusable glass jar comes from abroad, so the mark covers the tablets, not the jar.

What doesn't the Avainlippu tell you?

The Avainlippu tells you where the tablet is made. It says nothing about where the raw materials come from.

The mark also doesn't tell you what's in the tablet, and it isn't meant to. The tablet's full contents, with doses, are on the product page.

All of October's new Avainlippu products, services and online stores are listed on Suomalainen Työ's site (in Finnish).

Why routines stick when kids own them

Sticker charts work for two weeks, then quietly die. Here's what motivation research says about why, and how to hand a routine over so it actually sticks.

Ten snacks kids can make themselves

A snack you hand over gets eaten. A snack they made gets eaten proudly. Ten no-stove ideas a child can pull off alone, one crooked slice at a time.
